{"id":1112,"date":"2014-01-15T08:01:36","date_gmt":"2014-01-15T08:01:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/learnlikeme.com\/?p=1112"},"modified":"2014-01-15T08:09:53","modified_gmt":"2014-01-15T08:09:53","slug":"building-a-reflector-holder-from-a-microphone-stand-diy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/learnlikeme.com\/index.php\/building-a-reflector-holder-from-a-microphone-stand-diy\/","title":{"rendered":"Building a Reflector Holder from a Microphone Stand &#8211; DIY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After realising I needed some way of holding a reflector at a particular angle especially when I take photos by myself, I decided to build a reflector holder using a microphone stand, medium size document clips and cable ties which I had lying around.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Reflector Holder\" alt=\"Reflector Holder image\" src=\"http:\/\/learnlikeme.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/renny\/jpg\/reflectorHolder1.jpg\" width=\"278\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I found this pretty easy to build and it allowed me to position my reflector at different angles and height. I could also use this to hang a large collapsible backdrop.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I decided to use a microphone stand with an extendible boom because I wanted to be able to adjust the length to suit different size reflectors.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Microphone Stand\" alt=\"Microphone Stand image\" src=\"http:\/\/learnlikeme.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/renny\/jpg\/reflectorHolder3.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"93\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I simply cable tied the document clips to the ends of the boom of the mic stand, then simply clip the reflector onto it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Reflector Holder Clips\" alt=\"Reflector Holder Clips image\" src=\"http:\/\/learnlikeme.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/renny\/jpg\/reflectorHolder4.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This was very simple to do and it\u2019s pretty sturdy. The reflector I am using is pretty large, I think it\u2019s about 1.2 meters in diameter and it holds up pretty well.
